Dear Friends, The real issue is over reporting and double counting. The wide disparities in reported and validated coverage call for linelist-based reporting sytems, which can lead to better accountability and remove duplicate entries. Moroever, the individual beneficiary, rather than agregated data will enable tracking of timeliness of immunisation events and trigger reminders, and flag alarms. Until our team did the immunisation timeliness and coverage evalaution study in Kangra (India), nobody realised that over three fourths of the imunisation events were delayed by over one month. Having real-time information in future will be more linked to timely response than retrospective realisations.
