Cross-posted from the GAVI CSO forum. Dear GAVI CSO Constituency members and friends, Civil society (defined by GAVI as non-government and community-based organisations, faith-based groups, academic institutions, professional bodies and women's initiatives) is a critical GAVI partner in immunisation service delivery, policy engagement, and advocacy. Recognising these important facets, the CSO Award and Special Recognition sub-team for the GAVI Partners Forum has recommended that three accolades be awarded to acknowledge and highlight the unique contribution of civil society in advancing GAVI’s mission: 1. Civil Society Commitment Award (“The Country CSO Commitment Award”): awarded to a GAVI eligible country that has worked in the spirit of true partnership with civil society to deliver tangible results. The recipient of the Country CSO Commitment Award will be nominated by UNICEF/WHO, who will assess countries based on the criteria detailed in the table below. Nominated countries with supporting evidence will be provided to the GAVI Independent Review Committee (IRC) which will provide recommendations to the Partners Forum Steering Committee. 2. Civil Society Special Recognition (Service Delivery) (“The CSO IMPACT Award”): awarded to a civil society organisation based in a GAVI-eligible country that has increased access to immunisation and helped to improve immunisation coverage at the community and national level. 3. Civil Society Special Recognition (Advocacy and Public Policy) (“The RISE UP Award”): awarded to a civil society organisation based anywhere in the world that has advanced GAVI’s mission through its advocacy and public policy engagement efforts. A nomination process will be used to identify CSO recipients of the special recognitions (numbers 2 and 3 above). We invite organisations and institutions to nominate organisational recipients of these awards. For more information about each of the above-mentioned CSO awards, please refer to the Civil Society Award and Special Recognition Information sheet. To nominate an organisational recipient, please refer to the nomination form. Kindly note that nominations must be submitted no later than 15 October to [[email protected]][email protected][/email]. Kind regards to all on behalf of the GAVI CSO Steering Committee
