Dear FORUM, The recent reports of NFHS/ DLHS reinforce the gap between the reported cverage and validated coverage, which is cause for concern. Whereas health managers react with denial and mistrust to the survey reports, we need to revisit and review the aggregate reporting system, which leaves a lot of space for bogus entries. An individual benficiary based computerised MIS could enable tracking of individual imunisation events and accountability into the service provision and correct reporting. This could be coupled with a social audit and verification of benificaries by the village health committee. Looking forward to inputs and dialogue on this critical issue.
