GlaxoSmithKline and Save the Children have launched a fund totalling $1,000,000 to reward organisations practicing innovative approaches for reducing under-5 child mortality. The organisation judged to combat child mortality in the most innovative and effective way will be eligible for an award of up to $250,000. Eligible innovative organisations can come from the non-profit, private or public sector, if both the organisation and the innovation are from the developing world. Nominations can be submitted by the organisations themselves, or by a third-party organisation or an individual, through a brief questionnaire found within the detailed guidelines. Further details on the judging process, eligibility and criteria can be found online at: https://www.innocentive.com/ar/challenge/9933399 By providing a platform for winning organisations to showcase their innovations and share information, the award hopes to enable others with an interest in improving healthcare to adapt and replicate interventions in order to create more positive change for children in their own country and beyond. Nominations for the award fund can be submitted from 27th June to 26th August and winners will be announced in mid-November.
