Data from two session sites were scanned through the 'IMMUNOGRAM' tool for enumerating the vaccination status to obtain multi indicators. It was observed that both the areas achieved high vaccination coverage except for the measles second dose: 8% in one area and 0% in the other. On the coming regular session day, 10th January 2013, all these children will be mobilized to the session site, anticipating an achievement of more than 90% coverage since these children are to be brought by their caretakers only once. The result will be shared with the block/district/state programme managers for replication in other planning units of the same block and district to start with. I wish to call this operation as 'IgM ++ Application' as it involves monitoring/evaluation with supportive supervision. Preparation has already started as it needs advocacy/IPC at different levels. Interns at rural postings will be actively involved for capacity building and to create festival approach. I am eagerly waiting for the 'D' day to achieve expected result. http://www.technet21.org/components/com_agora/img/members/3431/mini_-IgM--Application.jpg Immunogram-Peraje.ppt

Operation 'SIgMA' was experimented in one sub-center area with 4 session sites to study the impact on maximum clearance of backlogs in a shortest period of 4 days. The result obtained with more details is attached for sharing with the viewers for further inputs. Result-of-Operation-SIgMA.docx

Many operational dreams were realized, I hope this will also realize at least in a small scale if not in a large scale. I am happy to share that "IMMUNOGRAM,IgM2+ Application" is now piloted in Chikkaballapur District of Karnataka by the GoK. Operation--SIgMA-.pdf

Two anganwadi areas of the Peraje health sub-centre are performing well in the vaccination programme. However, on enumerating the data in the 'immunogram' measles 2, coverage was found to be at the bottom, for which only one visit is required by the child and the caretakers. Hence, an effort will be made on the 2nd Thursday of January 2013 -- regular Routine Immunization Session day itself -- with required advocacy and IPC to mobilize all the available due children for optimal coverage. The result will be shared with programme managers of the block and the district for dissemination and replication through out the district to start with. I wish to name this this 'operation' as 'IgM ++ Application' as it incorporates monitoring and evaluation with supportive supervision with scope for scalability to wider area in the due course.
