Greetings and we wish to sahre the attached with the techNet viewers.
Karnataka launched Mobile Medical Units (MMU) to provide free health care services to the hard to reach / underserved community; especially to tribal population in 27 districts. It has 31 output indicators of which 2 are child Immunization related –
1. Full Immunization of Children below first birth day (FIC) and
2. Complete Immunization before 2nd birth day with DPT 1st booster, OPV and MCV 2 doses.
Dr Narayan, Deputy Director, Community Monitoring form the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, visited the Dedicated Vaccination clinic of our College and it was proposed to train the 2 nursing staffs of every MMU in small batches for providing quantitative (no backlog and vaccinating close to the schedule) and qualitative (adhering to the 8 rights before administering the vaccine). Accordingly, we trained / oriented 144 ANMs/Staff Nurses of MMUs in 7 batches between 11 March 2017 and 10 June 2017 in the annexure of Vaccination Clinic.
This training was based on “EXTENDED IMMUNOGRAM” which provides Mission Indradhanush (MI) specific micro-plan & antigen wise, dose wise specific Duelist – the 2 key elements of MI and provides denominators, records numerators, enabling to derive the 4 critical indicators of MI, thus supports the government in achieving and sustaining the objectives of MI – the FLAGSHIP PROGRAMME of India.
We are looking forward to train the Medical Officers (MOs) of these MMUs also in two small batches.
