In the line of duty Last month in Pakistan, two tragic incidents served as an important reminder of the bravery of those on the polio frontlines and the risks they face to ensure children receive the vaccine. On 17 July, a WHO staff member and an international consultant were injured when their vehicle was shot at by armed men. Three days later, Union Council Polio Worker Muhammad Ishaq was shot and killed. Both incidents took place in Gadap, Karachi.
