POST 00692E : HepB VACCINE DOSES INTERVAL Follow-up on Posts 00674E and 00682E 29 June 2004 _______________________________ Amber Hogan, (mailto:[email protected]) from the USA offers further advice on HepB vaccination schedule. These are consistent with recommandations already published in previous postings. _______________________________ According to CDC recommendations enforced through US Occupational Safety and Health Administration - HBV vaccines should be given at 1 month, 2 months, 6 months - with an antibody test 1-2 months post-last dose to ensure appropriate levels. Recent CDC studies state nearly 80% immunity after just the first dose (which is good news for those in high turn-over facilities that only are able to receive one dose - e.g., prisons, nursing homes, etc.).
