POST 00705E : GLASS SYRINGES DISPOSAL Follow-up on Posts 00696E, 00700E and 00704E 12 August 2004 _______________________________ Philippe Jaillard (mailto:pjaillard@aamp.org) from AMP replies to Anthony Battersby's message (Post 00700E) _______________________________ Dear Anthony, Thank you for your answer and sorry to react so lately, I was in the field out of connection. You give a simple but relevant advice : not using this presentation if you don't have the means to deal with its destruction. Unfortunately, some countries have some "good deal" with pharmaceutic industry which is ready to sell for affordable price (and sometime as a donation for a limited time) some unadapted vaccine presentation. This is our role to advise health authorities of these countries to look at all aspects of immunization activities before ordering or accepting any kind of presentation. I am not sure that national regulatory authorities also provide criteria for elimination of a candidate vaccine for qualification.
