Webinar 1: Introduction to WHO equipment inventory and gap analysis (IGA) tool

In December 2021, WHO HQ launched the new web and mobile-based equipment inventory and gap analysis too (IGA). The tool is customizable and is designed to make the management of equipment inventory efficient, practical, and cost-saving, and the inventory database is promptly updated to guide decisions and actions. This webinar will explain how the IGA tool is useful for maintaining an inventory of cold chain units, including any other equipment used in the national health programmes and service delivery.

On 13 July, at 11:00 AM to 12:00 NN (Brazzaville time), WHO AFRO will hold a webinar to introduce the WHO equipment inventory and gap analysis tool (IGA) to member states in the African Region. The discussions will cover the different functionalities of IGA and how it can contribute to improving SC performance.

During the webinar, a survey will be held to assess countries’ interest and readiness in using the IGA tool.

The webinar will be available both in English and French, through real-time interpretation.

Webinar 2: Introduction to WHO Session Planning Tool- based on established vaccine wastage rates

In 2020, WHO HQ developed an MS Excel-based tool called “WHO Session Planning Tool” (formerly called District Wastage Rate Calculator for Session Planning), which is designed for defining the most suitable vaccination session frequency based on local data on vaccine wastage rates. The tool provides simulations for changing service delivery parameters and vaccine characteristics, such as vial size, MDVP status, etc. The tool is useful for facility session planning, district microplanning, and vaccine needs forecasting.

On 22 July, at 11:00 AM to 12:00 NN (Brazzaville time), WHO AFRO will hold a webinar to introduce the WHO Session planning tool, including its functionalities and usefulness in improving EPI and iSC performance. This will also be an opportunity to discuss the way forward based on countries’ interest in using the Session Planning Tool.

During the webinar, a survey will be held to assess countries’ interest in using the Session Planning Tool.

The webinar will be available both in English and French, through real-time interpretation.
