Hi folks, This is Johnson Kisanga from CHAI. Many thanks to the team who prepares this handbook as it is very helpful. My question goes back to you, do you ever think of having a regrigerator service Tag, like a maintenance card that will be used store historics maintenance that has happened to a certain refrigerator at a health facility? Or if it is availabe elsewhere, can some one share it with me.

Thanks

I also truly agree the usefulness of the standard document for the cold chain maintenance and I fully laud the needful of having cold chain preventive maintenance bin or tag to alert health workers that the equipment is due for service. This may be in terms of duration for physically operating equipment and duration in period for functional equipment but not in operation.  This will not only extend the life of the equipment, improved reliability and functionality of equipment, but also will ensure enhanced and consistent equipment quality. I understand in vehicles there are standardized parameters for preventive maintenance commonly used is 3,000 to 5,000 kilometres travelled or in terms of duration for example after every 3 months from the last service. In this regards, whichever comes first will call a preventive maintenance. In the same thinking-ability, a standardised checklist can be prepared for “to do list” as scheduled preventive maintenance.
