Call for Documents on the Effects of New Vaccine Introduction on National Immunization Programs and Health Systems
Robert Steinglass and Mike Favin post this request.
The USAID-funded MCHIP Project (Maternal and Child Health Implementation Project) would very much appreciate your assistance in identifying studies and reports from developing countries that contain information on effects – whether positive or negative – of new vaccine introduction on the national immunization programs and/or the health system. We are particularly interested in documents on the effects of introducing pentavalent, pneumoccocal, rotavirus, and HPV vaccines. The documents we are seeking might include post-introduction evaluations and national EPI reviews that discuss the effects of new vaccine introduction.
We are undertaking this review of the “grey literature” on the effects of new vaccine introduction in collaboration with the World Health Organization. Other partners (the London School of Hygiene &Tropical Medicine and U.S. Centers for Disease Control) are accessing other sources of information on the same question. Our definition of grey literature encompasses unpublished documents or published ones that have not appeared in a peer-review journal.
Please send a copy of any document that you believe will be of interest for this study to Ryan Macabasco [[email protected]] and to Robert Steinglass [[email protected]]. We would like to collect all documents by January 15, 2011.
If you do not have an electronic version of a document of interest, please scan the executive summary or the entire document, then email it to us; or you may contact us if you have personal knowledge on the topic and would be willing to be interviewed (by phone, Skype, or in person).
We will inform all contributors (and others) about how they can access the documents reviewed and our synopsis of findings.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
