POST 01349E: THE PRIVATE SECTOR’S ROLE IN PROVIDING IMMUNIZATION SERVICES IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES—INFORMATION SOUGHT FOR LITERATURE REVIEW 11 NOVEMBER 2008 ****************************************** Dear Colleagues, We are conducting a literature review on the role of the private sector in the provision of vaccination services in developing countries. This work aims to inform immunization partners and national decision-makers on the diverse practices of the private sector in delivering vaccination services, identify strengths, weaknesses and best practices and indicate potential ways to better integrate the private sector into the national immunization program. While we have found several articles on the role of the private sector in Asian countries, we have only been able to identify a few articles on this sector in African and Latin American countries. In addition, we have found very few articles on immunization service delivery by non-governmental organizations in various countries. We would appreciate any assistance that you could provide on where to find any kind of data and documentation in these areas. Thanks for your assistance with this request.
