PtD Global Indaba

Programme to be released in the new year

 

This month the PtD Global Indaba abstract submission window slammed firmly shut. The Global Indaba steering committee is now crafting a programme that will allow HR solutions that really can transform health supply chains to take centre stage.

 

Keep an eye out for the agenda, which will be released in the new year, and if you haven’t already, register, book your accommodation and plan ahead by checking and fulfilling visa requirements to ensure you can join is in Bangkok.

No people, no programme

 

Earlier this month PtD’s executive manager Dominique Zwinkels joined Jenny Froome and Scott Luton on the Supply Chain Buzz radio show to explain why supply chain professionalisation is the coalition’s central aim.

 

She also explained exactly why Thailand is a perfect fit for the PtD Global indaba: Southeast Asia, much like sub-Saharan Africa, faces the challenge of fragmented supply chains and a lack of dedicated professionals in HR for supply chain management.

Spotlight on...

Business case for investment in human resources for health supply chain management 

 

At the Global Health Supply Chain (GHSC) summit in Nairobi in November, PtD presented its Business case for investment in human resources for health supply chain management (read the article here).

 

The business case shows that the areas of staffing and skills receive the bulk of the investment allocations from donor agencies (Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Global Fund and USAID); most investments are dedicated to skills while motivation and working conditions receive negligible allocations.
