Here are some key sessions we’d like to draw your attention to:
Indaba impulse talks (Thursday 7 March in the morning & Friday 8 March in the afternoon so make sure you stay until the end!)
Think of these as the Global Indaba’s version of TED talks. There’ll be two sessions, each of which will feature three short, thought-provoking talks. In the first session you'll hear from Walter Proper, IAPHL executive director emeritus, Joe Ruiz from Red Lightning and Thanapat Wanichanon, Dean of Mahidol University’s faculty of engineering. Then on Friday it's the turn of Kevin Etter of PtD, who has already cut his teeth on the big stage, Pamela Steele, founder of Pamela Steele Associates, and GaneshAID's Dorothy Leab.
Panel discussions to grab your attention
Building an inclusive supply chain workforce: Innovative partnership examples for gender representation (Thursday 7 March, 10:35 am)
Led by Rachel Couper (DAI), this discussion will centre on cases from Central Asia and Kenya that really have ushered in greater gender diversity in health supply chain management.
Leadership and stewardship of the supply chain workforce: Health systems for the future (Thursday March, 4:35 pm)
Led by VillageReach’s Tapiwa Mukwashi, this session will explore how to nurture effective and trusted leaders who can overcome obstacles, foster inclusion, strengthen health supply chains and advance universal health coverage.
Friday’s interactive session: Co-creating the future
On Friday 8 March, the International Association of Public Health Logisticians (IAPHL) will host an interactive session in the morning. This session is for all Global Indaba participants, even if you are not an IAPHL member (although you might have become one by the end!).
The objective is to dig deeper into topics discussed at the Indaba and to create new partnerships and collaborations. Here’s what to expect:
A co-created agenda, which will allow participants explore new topics. Propose a session! (see more below)
Peer-to-peer group discussions that really put the focus on knowledge exchange. If you attend a session it is because you want to contribute to the discussion — with questions or expertise! There’s no technology and no PowerPoint.
Everyone participates: Session leads are facilitators and will encourage everyone to contribute. The idea is to share experiences, spark new ideas, explore different perspectives and deepen connections between people.
How to propose a session?
Sessions last 40 minutes. You don’t need to prepare and there are no presentations/projections allowed. The only thing we ask session leads is to document three discussion points and one idea for a potential next step. We will provide you with a form to make this easy.
Topics proposed so far include gender inclusion, youth and reimagining technical assistance.
