Progress in control and elimination of rubella and congenital rubella syndrome worldwide, 2012–2020

The Global Vaccine Action Plan 2011–2020 included a target to achieve elimination of rubella in at least 5 of the 6 WHO regions by 2020, and WHO recommends capitalizing on the accelerated measles elimination activities as an opportunity to introduce RCV. This report updates a previous report and summarizes global progress towards control and elimination of rubella and CRS from 2012 and acceleration of rubella control through to 2020.
