Cross-posted from GAVI CSO forum with thanks! Dear Colleagues: I would like to draw your attention to an exciting opportunity to seek funding for research projects on life-saving interventions for children under five. Please email [email protected] for additional information and feel free to circulate to your networks. Best, Erin Data for Life Prize The Data for Life Prize invites applicants to submit a successful but under-recognized life-saving intervention for children under five that deserves more rigorous study. Two winners will receive $50,000 each to fund meticulous, independent, year-long field studies of their chosen intervention. The results can then be used by winners to both improve the effectiveness of the intervention and to convincingly demonstrate the value of their work to potential donors and funding partners. The deadline to apply is June 18, 2014. The application and additional information can be found at www.childrensprize.org THE PROBLEM: Nearly 7 million children under the age of five die every year, and there is a scarcity of data to tell us which interventions save the most lives. THE CHALLENGE: Design a scientific study with a budget of $50,000 that will validate a previously unproven but highly effective intervention to reduce child mortality, demonstrating the potential to save a large number of additional lives through scale up. WHO CAN APPLY: Anyone – any organization or person worldwide can apply. Please refer to the FAQ for more details. HOW IT WORKS: Complete the 1st round Entry Form by clicking on APPLY NOW. Applicants selected for the 2nd round will be invited to submit more detailed information at a later date. Please refer to the FAQ for more details.
