Colour is not an indicator of quality. 2) All OPV vaccines are supplied by pre-qualified producers and are approved by National Regulatory Authorities. Phenol red is a residue of vaccine production, that is a visual indicator of the correct cell multiplication, or their degeneration. Some producers, not all, add more in the formulation of the final product for the vaccine to have this pink colour that everybody knows.
