This manual explains the most common procedures for rotavirus strain surveillance. Section 1 presents brief overviews of the methods and discusses implementation • issues. Sections 2-4 describe each of the procedures in detail, including modifications • to standard reagents or typing strategies that can be applied as needed to achieve optimal results.Section 5 lists the published scientific papers cited in the manual. • Appendices provide additional information on reagents, suppliers, primers, • and cloning and sequencing methods.
